TBI’s public background-check page lists a $29 service that does not require fingerprints. Requests can be made online or by mail; results are electronic and a valid email address is required.
FBI-only nationwide check
The same page lists a separate $50 fingerprint-required route through its contractor. It is not included in the $29 Tennessee-only request.
Qualified-organization screening
TBI separately identifies Tennessee-and-FBI applicant services for qualified organizations. Use the requesting organization’s instructions and the applicable contractor route rather than substituting the general-public product.
